OnePlus is infamous for providing timely software updates on its smartphones and to carry that forward, the Chinese brand has announced the OnePlus Software Maintenance Schedule.

OnePlus is promising two years of regular software updates from the release date of the phone, including new features, Android versions, Android security patches and bug fixes. Not just that, there will be an additional year of Android security patch updates every two months.

This applies to OnePlus 3, 3T, 5, 5T and the recently launched OnePlus 6 devices and will be effective immediately. As per the OnePlus Software Maintenance Schedule, OnePlus 3 and 3T will be getting regular OTA updates till November of 2018 and one year of extended Android security patches.

A few days back at MWC Shanghai 2018, Pete Lau revealed to PC Mag that OnePlus is working with US carriers and aims to produce a 5G smartphone next year. Lau also said that OnePlus’ close ties with Qualcomm will also help the Chinese brand in becoming one of the earliest brand to launch a 5G handset in US. So, the next year’s OnePlus 7 is going to be 5G compatible along with brands like Samsung and Oppo, which are also expected to launch 5G devices.

OnePlus’ latest smartphone OnePlus 6 has been a big hit in the market. In India, the first OnePlus 6 sale garnered sales worth Rs 100 crore that too within 10 minutes after the sale commenced. Also OnePlus sold one million OP 6 units just after 22 days of its launch.

OnePlus 6 price in India starts from Rs 34,999 for 6GB+64GB model and Rs 39,999 for 8GB+128GB variant. Recently, OnePlus also launched a new 8GB+256GB variant in India, priced at Rs 43,999.
