Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hinted on Monday at a “big announcement” in the context of conversational AI tools in the coming weeks.

In response to a specific question about whether India can create something similar to the conversational AI tool ChatGPT, the minister stated, “wait a few weeks, there will be a big announcement.”

“Parliament is in session, so I cannot say anything,” the minister said when asked about the big announcement. He refused to provide any additional information.

Vaishnaw was addressing the India Global Forum.

It is worth noting that ChatGPT has dazzled the world with its conversational abilities, sparking an AI (Artificial Intelligence) chatbot competition.

The new AI chatbot tool, developed by the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, has gained fame and garnered attention in recent weeks.  It can be programmed to provide definitive answers to questions, react to user prompts, and generate scripts, speeches, song lyrics, homework material, articles, marketing copy, classroom essays, and even draught research paper abstracts based on online information.
