National Employability Report 2015 indicates that 80 per cent of engineering graduates are unemployable and less than 11 per cent of Hotel Management graduates are employed.

The Fact is - On an average, more than 50 lakh understudies graduate each year in India. More than 75 per cent students enter the market each year and about 47 per cent graduates are unemployable (thehindu.com).

It is thus crucial to look at various other career options that they are slightly unconventional but with the advent of technology now, these have proved to be a lot more beneficial and have a far better employability rate in the present scenario.

1.    Animation

        From films to advertisements to books, there has been an increased use of animation over the past couple of years. This field has not explored by many but it is slowly changing.  A student can pursue a course in digital graphics animation or a B.Sc in animation from any institute like Global School of Animation in New Delhi and Chennai or Arena Multimedia in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Noida.

2.    Food Chemist

        With an interest or knowledge about food, a student can take up this course. A food chemist is supposed to check food quality and can pursue to cook later. B.Sc in Food Chemistry or M.Sc in food Chemistry is just some of the courses that one can pursue.

3.    Application Developer
       Each and every individual is making use of mobile applications these days that has been made so much simpler with the use of technology now. The amount of money offered to application developers is quite a lot and the work is interesting and innovative.

4.    Ethical Hacker
The work of an ethical hacker involves testing the security of a company's computer network without any malicious or criminal intent. The role of an ethical hacker has increased in the recent times and can pay an average compensation of Rs.3-6 lakhs per year.

5.    Image Consultant
An image consultant is slowly becoming a necessity for every corporate or organization or even for individual success in this competitive and dynamic world. They advise people on improving their personality and overall presentation. At the entry level, an image consultant gets paid around Rs 2-4 lakh per year.
