No Ruler In 75 Years Ever Shown Courage To Celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day: Shah

Amit Shah said that the purpose of celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day is to revive the history of this great war of liberation from the Raj of the Nizam and revive the tales of the anonymous martyrs

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that due to fear of vote bank politics, no ruler in 75 years had shown the courage to celebrate this day. He was speaking at the occassion of 75th Hyderabad Liberation Day .

"For many years, there was a demand from the people of this area that Hyderabad Liberation Day should be celebrated officially, but due to vote bank politics, those in power did not dare to celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day. Understanding the sentiments of the people of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day," Shah said. 

He further said, "The purpose of celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day is to revive the history of this great war of liberation from the Raj of the Nizam and revive the tales of the anonymous martyrs by reviving the flame of patriotism in the minds of the younger generation amongst the youth". 

Remembering the martyrs in his speech, Shah added that countless people like Komaram Bheem, Ramji Gond, Swami Ramanand Tirtha, M Chinnareddy, Narasimha Rao, Shaik Bandagi, KV Narasimha Rao, Vidyadhar Guru and Pandit Keshavrao Koratkar laid down their lives for freedom.

He said that we pay our humble tribute to Anabheri Prabhakari Rao, Baddam Yella Reddy, Ravi Narayan Reddy, Burugula Ramakrishna Rao, Kaloji Narayana Rao, Digambarrao Bindu, Vamanrao Naik, Aa. Kree. Waghmare, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, B. Ramakrishna Rao who lit the flame of rebellion against the Nizam.

Shah said the motivation behind observing Hyderabad Liberation Day was to restore the historical backdrop of the freedom battle and the stories of martyrs from the region and to promote patriotism.
