EXPOSURE WORRY: Shares in ICICI Bank fell 4 per cent on Wednesday on concerns the bank's Russian assets may be vulnerable as firms there struggle to stay afloat. ICICI shares were down 12.1 rupees at 284.30 rupees in a Mumbai market that was off 0.1 per cent in the afternoon. The stock dropped to just above last October's low of 282.15 rupees, a break of which would take it to its lowest in nearly 4-½ years. (Reuters)


SEALING TIES: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President of the Republic of Benin, Boni Yayi, in New Delhi on Wednesday. Several agreements for institutionalising bilateral cooperation are expected to be signed during Yayi's five-day India visit. The Confederation of Indian Industry, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India are jointly organising an interaction with the Indian business community for the visiting Beninese delegation in New Delhi. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP: Minister of State for Industry Ashwani Kumar and his Kazakhstan counterpart Vladimir Shkolnik before a delegation level meeting at Astana, Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Diplomatic relations between India and Kazakhstan have increased in importance in the 21st century after initially remaining passive in the 1990s. Both nations seek to develop an extensive commercial and strategic partnership in the Central Asia region. (PTI)
