Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella is believed to have a solution to deal with the emerging employment trends like quiet quitting and moonlighting. Nadella wants to bridge the gap between the manager and the employee regarding productivity, hence he has termed about Productivity Paradox.

Actually, a recent survey by Microsoft has revealed that there is an imbalance in the perception of productivity. The survey shows that yes 87 per cent of employees claim that their productivity is very good. At the same time, about 85 per cent of managers are concerned about the fact that they are not able to ascertain whether their employees are productive in the right respect or not.

There is concern among managers about non-working employees, which takes the form of 'productivity phobia'. Talking about this, in an interview to Bloomberg, Satya Nadella said that due to madness about productivity, cases like espionage of employees can also be seen.

Nadella claimed, "Top executives feel that their staff is not productive, while on the contrary, employees feel that they are productive. In many cases, employees suffer from fatigue and discomfort due to work. Bridging the productivity paradox is one of the most important things for us in this new world of work and hybrid work. People come to work for other people, not because of any policy."

If simply put, productivity paradox is that thing in which the employee feels that his work is productive, but the manager feels that the employee is not working. At the same time, the Microsoft CEO said that managers need soft skills and managerial skills to bridge the paradox. At the same time, they also need new tools to create clarity. He said that it would be appropriate to use the data to enhance the remote and hybrid learning set-up, so that the madness about productivity can be removed.
