Mid-Range Android Smartphones To Buy Under Rs 20,000

Manufacturers are launching new smartphones in the mid-price range of Rs 15,000 - Rs 20,000. In this price range, brands like Moto G5 Plus, Gionee A1, Oppo F1s, Samsung J7 Prime, Lenovo K6 Note and Vivo V5s face tough competition with each other.

Mid-range smartphones are becoming more popular than the budget smartphones among Indian consumers. The rise in the sales of these smartphones has increased significantly making India as one of the largest smartphone market in the world.

Out of the total 29 million units sold in India during Q1 2017, Samsung (26 percent), Xiaomi (13 percent), Vivo (12 percent), Oppo (10 percent) and Lenovo (8 percent) have almost 70 combined market share in the smartphone market, according to market research firm International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker survey.

Manufacturers are launching new smartphones in the mid-price range of Rs 15,000 - Rs 20,000. In this price range, brands like Moto G5 Plus, Gionee A1, Oppo F1s, Samsung J7 Prime, Lenovo K6 Note and Vivo V5s face tough competition with each other.

The smartphones run on Android Nougat and Marshmallow which can be further upgraded. Each smartphone features 5.5-inch HD display, except Moto G5 Plus which have a 5.2-inch screen. However the screen resolution of displays varies from HD (1280x720) to full HD (1920x1080).

Talking about the camera, Vivo comes with a 20-megapixels front camera. Gionee A1 and Oppo F1s sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera each, Samsung J7 Prime and Lenovo K6 Note have an 8-megapixel front camera. Moto G5 Plus is the odd one out with its 5-megapixels front camera. The rear camera remains standard in each handset.

Gionee A1 and Lenovo K6 Note have powerful battery backup of 4000mAh. The remaining handsets have battery backup of 3000mAh. Each handset’s processor is coupled with 4GB of RAM with only Samsung J7 Prime coming with 3GB RAM.

The inbuilt storage of Oppo F1s, Vivo V5s and Gionee A1 is 64 GB and others have 32 GB storage. Gionee A1 and Samsung J7 Prime can have their storage expanded up to 256 GB and others up to 128 GB through a MicroSD card.

Gionee A1 might feel little heavier in hands as it weighs 183 gram; others have a standard weight of 160 gram.

Manufacturers like Vivo, Oppo and Gionee have main focus on front camera and battery backup which they use as main attribute while marketing these handsets.
