The Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi is organising its annual media fest, the Media Mahakumbh, on 8th and 9th March, 2019. A festival bigger and better than before, a perfect amalgamation of knowledge and creativity – Media Mahakumbh aims to provide everyone with a platform to empower and be empowered.
The key aim of this festival is to understand the link between media and culture, as the two share a rather interesting relationship with one another. Being a premier mass communication institute that focuses on holistic learning and exposure, IIMC will be offering students as well as seasoned media professionals a chance to have a taste of both, media-knowledge and culture, at their fest through two key events: The keynote address by Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld and exchange4media Group, and the performance by classical Indian dancer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Sonal Mansingh.
Dr. Annurag Batra is a serial entrepreneur, media mogul, a journalist and an eternal optimist rolled into one. He is the first-generation entrepreneur and currently the Chairman of BW Businessworld. A visionary par excellence don’t miss out on a chance to hear Dr Batra share his media journey and exciting experiences at the Inaugural Session of Media Mahakumbh on March 8, 10 AM at the IIMC campus.
The later half of the afternoon will be a true delight for lovers of ‘all thing culture’, as India’s most celebrated classical dancer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Sonal Mansingh will grace the stage. Dr. Mansingh is a choreographer, scholar & author on Indian socio-cultural traditions, and is the recipient of the highest civilian awards - Padma Vibhushan (2003) and the Padma Bhushan (1992) from President of India among many coveted national & international awards & honours. A member of the Rajya Sabha and the Founder-President of Centre for Indian Classical Dances, Dr. Mansingh is truly a storehouse of cultural knowledge and performance expertise. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi nominated her as a NAVRATNA for Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission), and her performance ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ will be an ode to the same. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to witness Dr. Mansingh’s breath-taking performance on March 8, 4 PM at the IIMC Campus.
A riveting panel discussion with the top women media connoisseurs, 13 competitive events, and a scintillating performance by celebrated singer B Praak – IIMC’s Media Mahakumbh surely has something for everyone. March 8 and 9, be there!
