Maharashtra Govt Likely To Get Niti Aayog-like Body: Fadnavis

The topics discussed during the meeting between the chief minister and the Niti Aayog officials ranged from monetisation of assets, blockchain in agriculture, among others

Maharashtra Government is all set to form a state institution on the lines of Niti Ayog, announced Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, after a meeting on Sunday.
 
The state institution would collect comprehensive data to make calculated decisions on various sectors’ development.

“A delegation led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met the chief executive officer and other officials of the Niti Aayog today. It was proposed that an institute of transformation on the lines of Niti Aayog would be set up to make studied decisions on various sectors. CM Shinde has given an in-principle nod to this suggestion,” said Fadnavis.

The team of SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) from Niti Aayog and senior officials from GoM were present too in Mumbai for the same meeting. This is will be another milestone in the journey of fostering cooperative federalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Several key topics were discussed including asset monetisation, innovative approach, EV policy and preparedness, emerging technologies, better services in the agriculture and health sector, scalability of IT platforms, data-driven policies and transforming the state’s every public transport to the alternate fuel.

One of the important subjects that were discussed is Maharashtra’s Goal to be the first State to achieve USD 1 trillion dollar economy.

“We look forward to this new beginning and to work collaboratively with team Niti Aayog,” added Fadnavis.
