MSME Sector Of UP Will Play Major Role In India's Economic Development: Prez Murmu
She said that through this Summit, an investment of about rupees 35.5 lakh crore is estimated in Uttar Pradesh which is expected to provide employment opportunities to lakhs of people

The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector of Uttar Pradesh will play a significant role in the economic development of India, said President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday.
While speaking at UP Global Investors Summit-2023 in Lucknow, she said that UP has about 95 lakh MSMEs, the country's highest number of MSMEs.
She said that apart from being the backbone of the country's industries, MSMEs also provide the largest employment opportunities after the agriculture sector.
Underlining the fact that political stability and continuity of administration prove very helpful for investors, she said that Uttar Pradesh currently has a stable and decision-making government.
Murmu stated that UP is capable and ready to play the role of the growth engine of New India.
