Consumers looking to upgrade to luxury vehicles will now have an advantage as the carmakers are offering discounts and other value-added services across segments.
Even before the roll-out of Goods and Services Tax (Tax), Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi have already started enticing their customers by either passing on the benefit of the new federal tax regime or by offering attractive packages to its car buyers.
Mercedes-Benz India has recently announced a downward revision in the entire range of its locally assembled products such as CLA, GLA, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, and GLS, which are priced between Rs 32 lakh and Rs 1.87 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
The price revision on a weighted average of 4 percent (massive drop by up to Rs 7 lakh), effective from 26 May, is aimed at providing value to a customer’s purchase decision before GST implementation, and will also help the company in covering the difference in current ex-showroom prices and post GST ex showroom prices for customers on the entire ‘Made in India’ product portfolio.
BMW India too is working on offering guaranteed GST benefits to its discerning customers. In addition to GST benefits, customers can also avail reduced rate of interest, complimentary insurance, assured buyback schemes, complimentary service and maintenance on the range of BMW models. This offer will be available for limited period.
Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India said in a statement, “BMW is the fastest to offer preponed GST benefits to our customers much before the roll-out of GST itself. We are confident that our customers and prospects will enjoy their sheer driving pleasure with value enhanced benefits such as a lower rate of interest, assured buyback and complementary service and insurance in addition to the GST benefits.”
Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has recently announced offers on sales and service on the entire range of its product offerings. These offers are being rolled out with immediate effect across dealerships and are only applicable until the end of June 2017.
Under the new schemes on sales and service, Audi is offering competitive pricing on the entire model range. In addition to this, the carmaker has also announced a tailor-made comprehensive service package, which offers a variety of time and mileage options and range of service plans for customers to choose as per their individual needs and driving habits.
“It is the best time to join the Audi family, buy your dream Audi and benefit from the privileges of the Audi Club India. As opposed to the market trend, this is not a measure to clear old stock; we are extending the benefits on our new cars as well,” said Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India.
