After the constant blame game from both sides on the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, now a video is going viral on social media which shows that two vehicles, including a sports utility vehicle (SUV), running over a group of people at Tikunia in Lakhimpur Kheri, the main spot where the violence took place on Sunday.

In the video, the vehicles can be seen passing blithely on. Meanwhile, the source and the authenticity of the video could not be ascertained. However, the video is quite a in sync with the version of the protesting farmers about the incident.

Another version of the story is that the vehicles came under attack and lost control which led to the accident, however, nothing can be seen in the video that can verify this version.

Meanwhile, Congress leader and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who was detained by the Uttar Pradesh police on her way to visit Tikunia, in a tweet addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said she was detained and kept under detention without any formal order. She asked why the one who “crushed” the farmers was still not arrested by the police.

Her tweet came hours before Modi’s visit to Lucknow, on Tuesday.

Now, the incident has taken a legal turn as well, one side the Bar Association of Budhlada, on Tuesday, condemned the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and demanded an FIR against the culprits for the offence of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. On the other side, a plea has been filed in the Allahabad High Court seeking a CBI probe into the Lakhimpur Kheri incident of Lakhimpur Kheri.

Meanwhile BJP MP, Varun Gandhi also tweeted and wrote (roughly translated to English), “This video of deliberately crushing farmers with vehicles in Lakhimpur Kheri will shake anyone's soul. Police should take cognizance of this video and immediately arrest the owners of these vehicles, the people sitting in them, and other persons involved in this case.”

A total of 8 people died in the violence, and four of them were crushed down by a car allegedly being driven by the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and BJP MP Ajay Kumar Mishra.

After stopping Priyanka Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, now UP police has stooped Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel from meeting the victims. The official handle of Youth Congress tweeted (roughly translated in English), "Stopping the elected Chief Minister from meeting the victims is a rare example of the murder of democracy and the dictatorship of Modi-Yogi. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel expressing displeasure, he is sitting on a dharna at the Lucknow airport itself."
