Karnataka Assembly Polls To Be Held On 10 May

According to the data provided by EC, over 12.15 lakh voters are there, aged 80+, 276 voters above 100+ age and the EC will have special outreach for them during the election

The Election Commission of India on Wednesday announced the dates of the Karnataka Assembly election, which is going to be held on 10 May 2023 and the counting of votes will take place on 13 May 2023. 

The Election Commission officials held a press conference at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bjawan in Delhi on Wednesday. Election Commissioner of India Anup Chandra Pandey, Chief election commissioner Rajiv Kumar, and ECI Arun Goel announced the final schedule of Karnataka Assembly polls at 11:30 am on Wednesday.

The Election Commission has also mentioned that home voting facilities will be provided to 80+ senior citizens. EC has also informed that the state will have over 58,000 polling stations and there will be 28,866 urban polling stations among them.

According to the data provided by EC, over 12.15 lakh voters are there, aged 80+, 276 voters above 100+ age and the EC will have special outreach for them during the election.

As per EC, the state has a total of 42, 756 transgenders out of which, 41,000 have been registered. It has also appealed to transgenders to come forward for their voting rights. 

The Election Commission said that more than 1,300 polling stations will be handled by women in the state.
