Vijay Singla, Director, JTL Infra Limited believes that CSR activity is a way to give something back to society in terms of helping them selflessly and providing them with what they deserve. Vijay Singla says “CSR is an important part of the organization. These activities can be connected with a brand because they seek to give back to the communities in which they operate, aside from the developmental consequences”.

Amid the second wave of COVID-19, Vijay Singla and his uncle Pawan Bansal supplied food, masks, and sanitizers to locals in Chandigarh's native neighborhood on a daily basis. "During the lockdown period, there are a bunch of daily wagers and migrant laborers who are in desperate need of food, masks, and medicine, and unable to purchase ration. It is our responsibility to provide them with the basic necessities so that they may enjoy their lockdown period peacefully," Mr. Singla stated.

During the second wave of COVID, JTL Infra Ltd donated 20,000 masks, sanitizers, and basic necessities to the local populace in several districts across Punjab. JTL Infra Ltd, under the leadership of Vijay Singla, catered to approximately 5000 people every day. They rationed raw food for those in need and prepared meals for those without cooking equipment.

"We get calls from several places and people claim they haven't eaten anything in two days and are asking for food," says Vijay Singla of JTL Infra. The pitiful condition of the poor and destitute made Mr. Singla roam the streets and help homeless and needy individuals.

During the second wave of COVID-19, hospitals in Punjab ran out of medical supplies and a scarcity of beds and oxygen cylinders in hospitals exacerbated the situation for patients. In such a crisis, Vijay Singla stepped forward to assist local hospitals in Punjab by providing medical supplies such as oxygen cylinders, ventilators, hospital beds, and other medical equipment.

The CSR activities run by Vijay Singla (JTL Infra) are not limited to helping the poor living on the street and hospitals in Punjab. As a visionary director of Chetan Industries, he guided the company to roll out a CSR program in which the company established a 1 lakh MT capacity MS (Mild Steel) and GI (Galvanized Iron) manufacturing factory. This activity helped the local villagers in terms of job opportunities. The local population of Urla, where the facility is located, has received food on a regular basis. This has proven to be a crucial undertaking, particularly in the aftermath of COVID 19's disastrous second wave, which swept the country last year.
