Industry Mourns The Loss of Rahul Bajaj

Bajaj resigned from his position of non-executive director and chairman of the company last year.

Former chairman of Bajaj Auto chairman Rahul Bajaj passed away on Saturday at the age of 83.

According to the reports, he was not well for some time and passed away at around 14:30 Hrs on Saturday, the official said. His last rites will be held on Sunday.

Here how industry leaders mourned the  loss of Rahul Bajaj:

Anand Mahindra, Chairperson of Mahindra and Mahindra said, "I stand on the shoulders of giants.Thank you, Rahulbhai, for letting me clamber up onto your broad shoulders, advising me, cheering me on, encouraging me to be bold. Your footprints on the sands of Indian Business will never be extinguished. Om Shanti."

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Chairperson of Biocon said, "Industrialist Rahul Bajaj, Former Chairman Of Bajaj Group, Dies At 83 - I am devastated - he was a dear dear friend and will miss him dearly. The country has lost a great son and nation builder. Om Shanthi," tweeted.  

 Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry said, "FICCI mourns the demise of renowned industrialist Mr Rahul Bajaj. The country has lost a leading voice of the industry."

President of SIAM, Kenichi Ayukawa said, “The entire Automobile Industry joins me in expressing our deep sorrow on the sad demise of Rahul Bajaj, Chairman Emeritus at Bajaj Auto. He was a great industrialist who built an empire on sound principles and left a legacy that makes India proud with presence in several countries. The greatness of his personality lay in his simplicity, accessibility, frank and honest communication just like his visionary entrepreneurship. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this tragic time. May God bless the departed soul."

Harsh Goenka, Chairman of RPG Enterprises said, "The ‘spine’ of Indian business cracks. A close family friend, he was a visionary, straight talking and very respected for his value systems. An era ends! He leaves behind the two most capable sons in Indian industry, Rajiv and Sanjiv. #RahulBajaj Om shanti."
