The Indian hockey group kept its spirits high regardless of the odds of COVID-19 as well as winning the historic bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics is only the beginning of a new era, claimed young performer Dilpreet Singh on Wednesday.

The Indian men's group had finished a 41-year long term for an Olympic medal when they won bronze at the Tokyo Gamings last month. Most of us have worked very hard to make this happen. We do not allow anything to affect our minds during the pandemic. Senior citizens played a big role in making us feel like we can do it along with constantly urging us, Mentioned in a release issued by Hockey India (HI).

Dilpreet Singh wanted to run this far with the Indian team. Since his big holiday in Sultan of Johor Maga in 2017 when the Indian colts won the bronze medal, Dilpreet's profession has indeed reached new heights.

The youngster from Punjab notably claimed an assist going down from the elderly group that followed the 2018 FIH Men's Globe Mug, where the team was knocked unconscious in the quarter-finals, which became the transformative factor in his career.

In hindsight, it was certainly not an easy phase for me. Maybe, I could not handle the success of playing in such an enormous tournament so early in my career. I was barely 18 or 19 then. The coach of the junior team guided me in 2019 and I worked closely with the SAI psychologist in Bengaluru at the time, Dilpreet Singh.

After chief coach Graham Reid took over, he watched me during training and spoke to me personally which motivated me tons. After I got an opportunity to return to the Senior Group, there has been no looking back.
