Amidst the global war-like tension, India and the United States are strengthening cooperation on critical technologies, from space components to semiconductors, said the head of the US delegation, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. Ambassador A Elizabeth Jones to Aero India on Sunday.

She said the size of the US delegation at the USA Partnership Pavilion opening on Monday will allow growth in diplomatic and security cooperation between the two nations over the last year and will showcase that the US-India strategic partnership is one of the most consequential relationships of the United States.

She stressed India and the US are working together in many ways to ensure a free, open, prosperous, connected, and resilient Indo-Pacific region, where the democracies can thrive.

As a partner we are working together, addressing climate change; improving global health; getting ready for future pandemic crises, she said.

Cooperatively working on cyber challenges and building quality infrastructure, ensuring sustainable supply chains is our motto, Jones added.

Asserting the delegation head, Jedidiah P Royal, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, said the US-India close partnerships have developed ten thousand jobs in India.

He said this partnership will enable critical transfers of technology and manufacturing expertise to India.

He further emphasised, US companies have established engineering centres and manufacturing hubs and invested in building R&D centres to harness India’s talented scientists and engineers to advance cutting-edge R&D projects.

Major General Julian C Cheater, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs and Rear Admiral Michael Baker, Senior Defence Official and Defence Attaché at the US Embassy in New Delhi also assured the partnership as stronger beyond doubt.

The USA Partnership Pavilion at Aero India 2023 opened today and will witness some of the leading US defence companies participating in it with exhibits in the USA Partnership Pavilion.
