India Registers 41% Jump In Daily Covid Numbers With 5,233 Cases

India added 5,233 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,85,049, while the active cases increased to 28,857, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. The total number of people tested for covid rose to 85.35 cr, while 3,13,361 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The death toll climbed to 5,24,715 with seven fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The active cases comprise 0.07 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.72 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 1,519 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.67 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was 1.12 per cent, according to the ministry.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease in the last 24 hours stood at 3,345 and the total recoveries surged to 4,26,36,710.
