IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In North India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday has predicted heavy rains in the northern region of India including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana.

IMD said the heavy rainfall is likely to be on 24 and 25 May.

It said the Delhi-NCR will witness gusty winds and light rain and the northwest part of India may receive heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday. 

The weather department also predicted that the western disturbances can cause thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorms in the northwest of India continuing till Thursday. 

For the eastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Nagaland and Sikkim, IMD predicted the chances of heavy downpours till Friday.
