Hero MotoCorp Appoints Niranjan Gupta As CEO

Hero MotoCorp has appointed Niranjan Gupta as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from 1 May 2023.

The company further hinted at elevating Gupta from his current position as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Head of Strategy and M&A and continuing Dr Pawan Munjal as the Executive Chairman and Whole-time Director on the Board.

In his tenure of 6 years, Gupta has played a significant role in moulding the company financially and navigating it amidst the highly competitive and evolving environment. He was responsible for forging a key partnership globally, prominently with brands like Harley Davidson and Zero Motorcycles, the company added.

Asserting this fact Munjal said, Gupta is a leader and his sharp business acumen has been proven through his great business results in a highly competitive environment.

He emphasised the would-to-be CEO playing an instrumental role in the organisational growth with his diverse experience across finance, strategy and operational effectiveness in both developed and developing markets. 

Hero MotoCorp has developed a strong cash flow over the years ensuring judicious capital allocation under Niranjan’s leadership, he added.  

Gupta further expressed his gratitude by saying, with over 110 million satisfied customers, the future journey of the company will be more focused on expanding the business globally and creating value in shares.

He has over 25 years of leadership experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain and strategy roles across business sectors including consumer goods, metals, mining, and automobiles.

He is currently also serving as the Director on the Board of Ather Energy, HMC MM Auto, and HMCL Colombia.
