HP Unveils Next-Gen Form Factors for Personal Computing

Hewlett-Packard India has announced the launch of six new consumer personal systems products — HP SlateBook x2 (Rs 39990), HP Split x2 (Rs 64,990), HP ENVY Rove20 (Rs 69,990), HP Pavilion 11 TouchSmart Notebook (Rs 31,990), HP ENVY TouchSmart 14 (Rs 64,990) and HP Slate21 All-in-One (Rs 24,990).

HP’s new generation PCs offers seamless integration of technology into busy lives by leveraging on an array of operating systems. Products offered with Windows and Android operating systems are designed to enable different choice points so that people can use what’s familiar and connect with their information on devices that meet their individual needs.

The products launched included notebooks, detachables, and All-in-One PCs that give people more flexibility in how they access and share information. They provide seamless integration of technology into peoples’ busy lives through affordable touch technology, multi operating system (OS) options and new form factors.

“People today demand extreme mobility and performance in their computing devices, to access and create content effortlessly anytime and anywhere,” said Ketan Patel, Director, Consumer Product Category, PPS, HP India. “As India PC market leader, HP is happy to introduce the next-generation of PCs in a variety of form factors. OLX Partners With Lowe Lintas To Expand Brand Presence
Olx.in, online classifieds site, has chosen Lowe Lintas as its creative partner to further build up on its brand communication and strengthen its position.

Being a multi-agency pitch, Lowe Lintas won the OLX account amidst fierce competition from other top agencies of the country. CA Technologies Named a Leader in Sustainability Management Software
CA Technologies has announced that it has been named a leader in sustainability management software by independent analyst firm Verdantix.
 
The Verdantix report, says that when selecting an application, buyers should focus on the fit between the software functionality and their sustainability requirements and evidence of successful implementation in comparable firms.
 
In particular, it said other suppliers “could learn from the functionality developed by CA Technologies on sustainable supply chain management” and said CA Technologies scored “best-in-class” for project and portfolio management capabilities.

Riverbed Appoints New Sales Leader For Asia Pacific, Japan
Riverbed Technology has announced that Steve Dixon has assumed the role of senior vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan Sales. In his new role, Dixon will be responsible for charting and executing the sales and distribution strategy for Riverbed in Asia Pacific and Japan.

Steve has been with Riverbed for more than seven years now in various senior management roles. Prior to this appointment, Steve was the senior director and vice president for Asia Pacific Channels, where he successfully developed and strengthened the breadth and capability for Riverbed channel partners across Asia. Steve joined Riverbed in 2005 as managing director for Australia and New Zealand, where he helped Riverbed become the market-leading WAN optimization provider in the region.

Dave Peranich, president, worldwide field operations at Riverbed said: “Steve’s execution skills make him uniquely qualified to guide the Asia Pacific and Japan sales team through the next phase of our growth and development. Sao Paulo Airport selects SITA To Run Up To World Cup, Olympics In Brazil
GRU Airport - São Paulo International Airport in Latin America, has chosen SITA to transform its operations and optimise the flow of aircraft as it gets ready for the influx of international visitors for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to simplify the airport’s operations to deliver a world-class passenger experience.

They will give passengers up-to-date information on boarding locations, baggage belts and other important information via seamless, automated audio and visual messaging. 

The Airport Command and Control Center, which is monitored by the Center of IT Operations - where the real transformation will take place.

Luiz Ritzmann, Chief Information Officer for GRU Airport said: “With millions of visitors expected to converge on Brazil for the World Cup and Olympics, and normal passenger traffic expected to double by 2022, we’re preparing to handle more passengers, baggage and cargo as efficiently as possible. SITA’s Airport Management System will help us better integrate airside and operations so we can turn aircraft around faster, increase passenger throughput and better coordinate our ground services. It will also help us eliminate bottlenecks at check-in, customs and security because we can work together with our partners, sharing data and collaborating. This integrated and ‘intelligent airport’ view, which SITA’s technology gives us, will allow us to deploy resources as needed in real-time.”

The AirportCentralAirport Operational Database will act as a central point for proactively controlling operations and facilitating financial controls. AirportResource Manager will empower planning and help coordinate real-time management of both staff and equipment, including departure gates, baggage carousels and check-in desks.
