Gujarat Assembly Election: Newly-elected Members To Sworn In Today

The party gained a record-breaking win with 156 seats in the 182 assembly constituencies on 8 December 2022. Bhupendra Patel took oath on 12 December 2022 as the 18th chief minister of Gujarat

On a two-day Gujarat Legislative Assembly session, all the elected members will be sworn in on the first day of the house on Monday, while elections for the designation of Speaker and deputy speaker are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, as per official notification shared by Assembly Secretariat. 

As per a report by PTI, the oath ceremony will be administered by the Bharatiya Janata Party's senior MLA Yogesh Patel. The ceremony will witness the swearing-in of 182 elected members of the 15th Legislative Assembly in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 

The newly elected members will meet on Tuesday to elect the Speaker. In the first half of the second day on Tuesday, the elections for the post of Speaker and deputy speaker will be held, while in the second half of the day, all the other businesses are scheduled to be done.

BJP has announced the names of Shankar Chaudhary and Jethabhai Bharwad as candidates for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively. The party has won the assembly elections in the state for the seventh consecutive term.
