Gold Jumps Rs 190, Silver Gains Rs 125

Gold was trading lower at USD 1,890 per ounce and silver was flat at USD 27.65 per ounce.

Gold prices in the national capital on Tuesday rose Rs 190 to Rs 48,320 per 10 grams amid rupee depreciation, according to HDFC Securities.

In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 48,130 per 10 grams.

Silver also gained Rs 125 to Rs 70,227 per kg, from Rs 70,102 per kg in the previous trade.

The rupee depreciated by 9 paise to end at 72.89 against the US dollar on Tuesday.

In the international market, gold was trading lower at USD 1,890 per ounce and silver was flat at USD 27.65 per ounce.

HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, 'Gold prices witnessed decline after gaining above USD 1,900 per ounce in the last trading session.' Motilal Oswal Financial Services Vice-President (Commodities Research) Navneet Damani said, 'Gold prices continue to hover around USD 1,900, amid the volatility in the US dollar and yield.'
