Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will flag off Goa's first Vande Bharat Express connecting Goa and Maharashtra this week marking the 19th semi-high-speed train of the country.

The estimated date for the operation of the new Vande Bharat train is 3 June 2023, as per reports.

The new train will begin its journey between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Madgaon. The trail run between the two stations was conducted last week.

The semi-high-speed train will reduce the 765 km distance between the two states by one to two hours.

Currently, the fastest trains between the two states are CSMT-  Madgaon Janshatabdi Express and CSMT-Madgaon Tejas Express.

The new Vande Bharat Express would prove a boon to Goa tourism and would enhance its reach to Maharashtra.
