Goa Budget Session Starts, CM Sawant To Present Budget On Wednesday

The budget session for the Goa assembly kick started on Monday. The Chief minister Pramod Sawant will be presenting the annual budget for the financial year 2023-24 on Wednesday. According to information, Sawant is expected to present a budget of around Rs 25,000 crore for the state. 

As per the reports, the state’s annual budget is expected to focus on employment generation and skill development, as Goa government is looking to cater to the youth of the state. The state government is expecting revenue receipts of Rs 1000 crore till 31 March 2023. 

Sources say that while the state government is focusing on giving a big push to the existing tourism industry, a major push will also be given to the state’s flagship scheme Swayampurna Goa 2.0, apart from skill development and employment generation. 

The state government is also expected to pass some crucial bills during the session, which include ban on sale of agriculture land to non residents of the state, apart from a bill to allow government to acquire comunidade land for public purposes.
