German Ambassador Meets UP CM, Discusses Investment Opportunities

The German Ambassador to India expressed his desire to participate in the forthcoming Global Investors Summit and said that several investors from Germany are keen to invest in UP

The German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, met the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the latter’s official residence in Lucknow on Monday. He discussed the probable investments in UP and also the country’s participation in the forthcoming UP Global Investors Summit. 

During the meeting, Ackermann said that Germany and India have shared strong economic ties. "We are working together in many areas such as scientific and social exchange, climate, environment, sustainable development and energy,” said the Ambassador. He appreciated the steps taken by Uttar Pradesh in improving the transport system in the state and added that Germany is willing to work with the proposed metro light projects in Uttar Pradesh. “Germany will ensure the availability of its technical experts in this important transport project,” Ackermann said. 

He further shared details about the current collaborations between Germany and UP. he said that currently, German institutes along with IIT Kanpur and MMMUT Gorakhpur are collaborating in research, development and training. The Indo-German Scientific Council plans to work with other universities of Uttar Pradesh.  

The ambassador further spoke about participation in the forthcoming UPGIS 2023. He said that several investors from Germany are keen to invest in UP and they will be participating in the summit. 

Welcoming the ambassador, CM Yogi Adityanath said that under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, the relations between Germany and India have strengthened further. He added that the UP government is ready to provide all the necessary resources to the entrepreneurs for industrial development as per the vision of the Prime Minister. He also shared about how Germany can invest in the MSME sector and the UP Defence Corridor in the state.
