Gadkari Gives A Infra Boost To UP, Launches Projects In Eastern UP, Bundelkhand Regions

The union minister launched projects of over Rs 13000 crore in the backward regions of Eastern UP and Bundelkhand, giving them better connectivity

The Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation of infra projects worth several thousand crores in UP on Monday. Gadkari launched these projects in the eastern UP and Bundelkhand regions of the state, increasing the connectivity of these regions. 

Gadkari launched highway projects of more than Rs 3500 crores at Mahoba district of UP. Addressing the gathering, the union minister said after 2014, the length of national highways in Uttar Pradesh has doubled and by the end of the year 2024, road works worth Rs 5 lakh crore will be done for the state.

He further gave detailed information about the completed, under construction and proposed projects of National Highways in Uttar Pradesh. Praising the chief minister Yogi Adityanath he said that under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Yogi, the roads of UP will be of the best quality and even the state will become "as prosperous as America."  

Gadkari said, "These projects are either being inaugurated, or its foundation stones being laid and they will encourage investment in Uttar Pradesh and boost industrial development.  New employment opportunities will be created.  We are committed to the overall development of Uttar Pradesh by building national highways under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath."

Speaking on the occasion, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that the youth of Bundelkhand will no longer have to migrate for employment with an increasing number of industries being set up in the region. They will get ample employment opportunities in their home districts. 

The projects inaugurated and foundation stone laid in Bundelkhand region are as follows: 

  • Four lane construction of Jhansi-Khajuraho section (UP border) (Rs1410 crores)

  • Development of way-side amenity at Gulara village on Jhansi-Urai section (Rs 11 crore)

  • 46 km of Kabrai section from Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border. Long forelane construction (Rs 1681 crores)

  • 1.30 km at the junction of National Highway-27 and 44. Construction of interchange (Rs 126 crores)

  • Construction of road overbridge in Supa (Rs 79 crores)

  • Construction of road overbridge in Kidari (Rs 64 crores)

  • 1.3 km at Jhansi Medical Tiraha of Jhansi-Kanpur section. Construction of long flyover (Rs 61 crores)

  • Construction of road overbridge in Khairada (Rs 51 crores)

  • Construction of underpass and service road at Kailagunwa intersection of Jhansi-Lalitpur section (Rs 19 crores)

Gadkari also inaugurated a slew of projects worth Rs 10,000 crore in the Eastern UP region. These projects were inaugurated in districts including Gorakhpur, which is the home district of CM Yogi Adityanath. 

A total of six National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects worth Rs 810 crores were inaugurated whereas foundation stones of another 12 NHAI projects worth around Rs 9,200 crores were laid by the Union Minister and the UP CM. 

The projects that were inaugurated are as follows: 

  • Mohaddipur-Jangalkodia four-lane, length-18 km, cost- Rs 323 crore

  • Cantonment-Chhapia two-lane paved shoulder, length-55 km, cost- Rs  281 crore.

  • Road from Bhaurabari to Partawal Chauraha, length-26 km, cost- Rs 94 crores

  • Road from Bengali Tola to Barnaha Purab Patti, length-19 km, cost- Rs 70 crores

  • Road from Kuni Bazar to Gola, length-9 km, cost- Rs 38 crores

  • Construction of CC Pavement in Babhanan, length-380 meters, cost- Rs 4 crore

  • Sonauli-Jungle Kauria four-lane road, total length-80 km, cost Rs 2700 crores

  • Construction of Fourlane Greenfield Gorakhpur Bypass, Length-27 km

  • Construction of Barhalganj-Mehrauna Ghat two-lane paved shoulder, length-57 km, cost-Rs 974 crore

  • Construction of Maharajganj-Nichlaul-Thoothibari two-lane paved shoulder, length - 40 km, cost - Rs 809 crores

  • Construction of a two-lane paved shoulder from Hadiya Square to Karmaini Ghat, length-49 km, cost- Rs  593 crore

  • Construction of Balrampur bypass two lane paved shoulder, length-21 km, cost Rs 516 crores

  • Shohratgarh-Uska Bazar two-lane paved shoulder, length-33 km, cost- Rs 510 crore

  • Sikriganj-Badhalganj two-lane paved shoulder, length-39 km, cost Rs 403 crores

  • Chhapia-Sikriganj two-lane paved shoulder, length-35 km, cost- Rs 307 crore

  • Shohratgarh bypass, length - 6 km, cost - Rs 189 crores

  • Construction of road overbridge on Gorakhpur-Anandnagar rail section costing Rs 66 crores

  • Gilola bypass two lane paved shoulder, length-3.50 km, cost Rs 62 crores
