With the launch of “Innovate everywhere challenge”, Cisco System India is offering opportunities to its employees to propose a cool idea they believe can disrupt an existing trend and generate new possibilities.

This is one of the practices by Cisco that allows employees to solve real-world challenges by connecting people, process, data and things. Recognising the effort, winners of the challenge get a unique chance to incubate their venture; this includes receiving seed funding and the option to enter either a full-time, part-time or three-month innovation rotation programme. The ‘best’ idea also receives a cash award with Cisco’s Connected Recognition programme and a possibility to patent the idea.

Employees at Cisco take pride in its leadership, brand, products and contribution to the society. They are inspired by the culture and its elements like the ‘People Deal’ employee value proposition, WeAreCisco, and the inclusion of a diverse workforce. “With flexibility and freedom at work, they can learn new technologies, explore new ideas, and execute them with authority. The company provides the required resources and opportunities that can help them explore new technologies, platforms, and ideas to grow personally and professionally,” said Sameer Garde, President, Cisco India & SAARC.

Another initiative to strengthen the approach to find the right talent for the appropriate job and to give it a flavour of technology, Cisco has introduced ‘Belong’, a machine learning-powered tool to search the most relevant candidates and predict their openness to Cisco opportunities. It also enables the employees to automate personalise candidate engagement for great candidate experience.

An employee at Cisco mentioned, “Because of its employee-friendly work culture, I came back and consider it my second inning at Cisco, where everyone highly cares both personally and professionally.”

Cisco is a worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Nearly, 85 per cent of Internet traffic travel across Cisco’s systems. Its support manages and operates business systems for various and major third parties.
