G7 Summit To Pressure Russia To End Ukraine War

The meeting chaired by Japan will be held in India, Bengaluru and will be witnessed by finance ministers and central bank governors from the G7 nations

As a control measure on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, the financial leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) have decided to meet on 23 February.

The meeting chaired by Japan will be held in Bengaluru and will be witnessed by finance ministers and central bank governors from the G7 nations. The meet is the run-up to the 19-21 May summit meeting of G7 leaders in Hiroshima. 

The G7 comprises countries namely, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.

According to reports, Japan’s Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki stated, the leaders will pressure Russia to end the Ukraine war.

The main meeting agenda will be ‘Support for Ukraine’ and ‘Sanctions against Russia,’ added Suzuki.

We are continuously coordinating with G7 and the international community in order to enhance the sanctions to achieve the ultimate goal, prompting Russia to withdraw from the ongoing war.

The G7 will be followed by G20 talks, with a focused discussion on the global economy. And is likely to discuss inflation heightened by Russia’s war. Energy, food prices and emerging market economies’ debt will be in focus.

Suzuki further marked, discussing these problems, we can hope to produce significant results that will lead to stable and sustainable global growth.

Meanwhile, the war is raged, despite a slew of punitive measures taken by G7 and other countries against Russia.
