From ‘Fat-Freak’ To ‘Fitness-Freak’

Pranit Shilimkar, Founder, Fitness Talks shares with BW Businessworld the science behind fitness, his business plans, the 37-day challenge and much more. Excerpts:

What is the story behind the success of your brand?

It all began the day I decided to get fit. Before that, I was ‘fat-freak’, you can say, so actually, I wasn’t feeling healthy. I wasn’t feeling confident about my body.

I began experiencing the feeling of not being able to perform certain activities flawlessly like other kids. That caused some issues.

How have influencers helped people during the pandemic?  

They have helped a lot. And because of the pandemic, my collaboration with influencers has been a tremendous help for me to actually make people aware about fitness.

Influencers have a mass following. Collaboration with influencers furthers my cause of motivating people to keep fit.

What is your vision for your brand?

My primary focus will be training people online. It’s only very recently that we have started offering some offline courses.

I stand for motivating those who have not done anything about their body fitness. For such people, working out or going to the gym is a nightmare. I am there to make fitness fun for them. But for fitness freaks, I don’t represent my brand, because already there are many brands who are doing enough to help.

Being an online consultancy firm, we are training Indians who are staying overseas. They are getting amazing results. Last year, we transformed almost 5,000 people.

Tell us more about your flagship product, the 37-day challenge.

Honestly, this 37-day challenge is just a hook to grab people. If one can get positive results in 37 days then that is just a trailer. It can inspire your to start following a fit lifestyle. We are trying to make people aware. We all are superheroes, and our bodies can do wonders if we push it into the right direction.

What is the importance of diet in body transformation?

Following correct nutrition is the most important element of starting out on the journey to becoming fit.

Therefore, even in my 37-day challenge, diet and nutrition form a big part. In order to change the body composition, it’s important to change the components that have made this body.

Proportional and correct intake of proteins, minerals, nutrients, and even water go hand-in-hand towards making a body get fit. Taking the right fuel becomes very important for high performance.

Hence, following and understanding correct nutrition is very important in the 37 days challenge.

I still haven’t been able to digest the fact that I have been chosen as one of the winners. It is indeed a big honour and a humbling experience.

This award will certainly help provide a boost to my personal confidence. I am deeply honoured to actually receive this award. This award will also push me to do more hard work.
