Taiwanese electronics major Foxconn on Monday stated that it will establish a manufacturing facility in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district.

According to Telangana CMO, Foxconn Technology Group Chairman Young Liu has emphasised on the company's commitment to establish a manufacturing facility in Kongar Kalan. He has also asked for the State’s assistance in operationalising Kongar Kalan Park.

"This amply clears the doubts as raised in a certain section of the press that, Foxconn company was in a dilemma as to whether to set up the manufacturing facility in Telangana or not," the press note from CMO stated.

The Foxconn Chairman had met Telangana Ministers and officials with his team last week. During the meeting, it was decided that Foxconn would set up electronics manufacturing facility in Telangana. The facility is expected to generate employment for over one lakh people.

On 3 March, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai had tweeted that an agreement had been signed with Foxconn to make major investment in state. Roughly 300 acre of land near Bengaluru International airport was allocated for this investment, the tweet mentioned.
