Essilor Sets Up Vision Foundation In India

Essilor has announced the establishment of the Essilor Vision Foundation in Bangalore, India. The launch of this newly-registered charity is part of the Group’s strategy to meet the vision needs of people in every region of the world and, in particular, the 2.5 billion people who need access to vision correction and currently do not have it. The Essilor Vision Foundation’s expansion into India represents the first of several public charities that will be launched under the Essilor Vision Foundation banner in different countries in 2014.

A public charity to accelerate vision care for underdeveloped communities in India

It is estimated that as many as 550 million Indians have uncorrected poor vision. This has far-reaching social impact on individuals and their communities as well as an estimated economic impact of $37 billion in lost productivity each year in the Indian sub-continent[1]. In addition to its traditional business, Essilor has pioneered several inclusive business models in India over the past 10 years that aim to grow awareness and provide locally affordable eyeglasses to low income individuals and families. The launch of the Essilor Vision Foundation will now help accelerate the Group’s actions in favor of the 400 million people who live below the international poverty line in India.

Emergency Assistance Just A Call Away Across India

With a well-established Emergency Response Service already in place within the Delhi NCR, OTER’s on call assistance services are now available across major Indian metros. While the Physical Response Service (within NCR only) is available at a cost of Rs 250 per month, the PAN India on-call Emergency Help Desk service costs Rs 50 per month.

Outbrain Appoints Gulshan Verma To Lead Expansion In India
Outbrain, an online content discovery platform, has announced that it has appointed Gulshan Verma as Country Manager of Outbrain India, to lead the company’s expansion in the Indian subcontinent.

Dell Strengthens Enterprise Solutions Coverage By Partnering With Redington
Dell, leading end-to-end technology solutions provider announced partnership with Redington for the distribution of its enterprise products. The partnership will aim to strengthen Dell’s distribution business strategy launched last month in the Indian market. The Dell-Redington partnership is established on national distribution framework and will enable smooth availability of Dell enterprise solutions in 33 Indian cities. Agilent Tech Strengthens Aerospace & Defense Portfolio
Agilent Technologies, a premier test and measurement company,  has concluded the 8th annual Aerospace and Defense Symposium in New Delhi. The Symposium is an annual property of Agilent Technologies and is India’s biggest technical gathering of Aerospace and Defense engineers and scientists working on cutting edge Strategic Electronics. This year the symposium focused on military communications, electronic warfare and radar systems, apart from detailing the challenges in test and measurement.
