EaseMYTrip Announces 100% Dividend

EaseMyTrip has been profitable since inception, while remaining 100% bootstrapped, and managing its growth entirely through internal accruals.

Easy Trip Planners Limited (EaseMyTrip), one of India’s leading travel agency, has announced interim dividend of 100% for Fiscal 2020-21. This is the first dividend announced by the company since its listing in March 2021. The Board of Directors of the Company at their meeting held today has declared an interim dividend of 100% of face value i.e. Rs 2 per share and total interim dividend payout is Rs 21,72,90,000 for FY 2020-21.

EaseMyTrip is ranked second amongst Key OTAs in India, based on air ticket booking volumes for the first nine months of fiscal 2020-21. It is the also the fastest growing travel portal, growing at 47% CAGR between FY18 to FY20 based on Gross Booking Revenue.

It is the only Profitable OTA amongst the major OTAs in India. Further, it is the only player amongst Key OTA players in India to record a positive return on equity and a positive return on capital employed in FY18, FY19 and FY20. The company offers “end to end” travel solutions which includes air tickets, hotels and holiday packages, rail tickets & bus tickets as well as ancillary value added services.

According to Nishant Pitti, CEO and Co-Founder, “The 100% interim dividend demonstrates our commitment to our shareholders to share the rewards of the success of the company. We believe that we have the only sustainable model in the OTA business and we have shown over time that we can both grow and deliver profits consistently. The interim dividend marks a major milestone in the company’s commencement of its journey as a listed firm and we intend to keep the company strong and profitable. Even when the headwinds of Covid-19 knocked down the industry, we showed the ability to deliver profitable results. In the third quarter of the current fiscal, we bounced back with 70% of our bookings in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal, demonstrating our robust recovery from the pandemic-hit first two quarters.”

The company registered a 32.3% growth in air passage segment and 176.7% YoY growth in Hotel Packages segment in fiscal 2019-20. The company is focused on building advanced and scalable technology. Its gross booking revenue increased from 1945 crores in FY18 to 4204 crores in FY20 translating into a CAGR of 47%.
