On Tuesday, Amazon India made the announcement of a special diversity grant to support entrepreneurs in building their logistics businesses. This new initiative comes with an aim to bolster the participation of women, persons with disability, and people from the LGBTQIA+ community in Amazon's Delivery Service Partner programme, as per the public statement made by the company.

The official statement said, “The special grant will empower aspiring entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities to join its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) programme in India."

Amazon India assists entrepreneurs to start up their delivery business by the provision of access to Amazon's delivery technology, hands-on training and exclusively negotiated deals on services, all of this under its DSP programme.

Amazon has committed nearly USD 7 million in total, worldwide as a means to support entrepreneurs through various grant programmes. The programme welcomes even those who have absolutely no prior logistics experience.

Since its inception, the Delivery Service Programme has become a whopping network of more than 1,000 delivery stations around the world, which has also expanded to more than 14 countries.
