Being out of the race for the post of Congress President, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday that, it should be discussed why there is displeasure among the MLAs in the name of the new Chief Minister in the state. He said that I cannot cheat those who saved our government.

Gehlot said that on the appointment of a new Chief Minister in Rajasthan, 80 to 90 per cent of the MLAs switch sides and they get along with the new leader, which I also do not consider wrong. But, this did not happen in Rajasthan. Without naming Sachin Pilot, Gehlot said that when there was a possibility of a new Chief Minister coming, what was the reason that the MLAs got furious with his name, which never happened till date.

While talking to the media, the chief minister said, why did such a thing happen that the MLAs got angry? When our state Congress president told the MLAs that a proposal has come to get it passed, it has some law. On this the MLA got furious and started saying that we have resigned, we have done this. After this, the state president told the MLAs that Ashok Gehlot will not fill the form for the post of president again.

Gehlot defended his loyalists who submitted their resignations, saying that there were 102 MLAs who saved his government during the 2020 rebellion. He said, he cannot cheat them that's why he accepted to apologise to Sonia Gandhi.
