Devendra Fadnavis Takes Oath As Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra

Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday morning announced that Fadnavis will join the state government on the request of BJP president JP Nadda

After a huge upheavel in Maharashtra politics, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The oath ceremony was administered by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhawan. Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday morning announced that Fadnavis will join the state government on the request of BJP president JP Nadda.

"I will be out of government but will ensure smooth functioning of the government which is coming as an alternative after Uddhav Thackeray resigned," Fadnavis said.

Home Minister Shah twitted in hindi, “Devendra Fadnavis has decided to join the Maharashtra government on the request of BJP chief JP Nadda.” He further tweeted, that Fadnavis’s decision shows his sense of service towards the people of Maharashtra.

Bhartiya Janta Party's national president JP Nadda has given this information while congratulating him. At the same time, the central leadership of the party also believed that Fadnavis should join the new government. Earlier, Fadnavis had talked about not taking any post.
