The fifth edition of Vogue Wedding Show to be held in Taj Palace from August 4 to 6, New Delhi will be witnessing eminent designers showcase their wedding couture inspired from various elements of nature.
Renowned designers such as Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi among others will be greeting the event with their wedding couture collection. In this edition, some of the designers will be seen welcoming nature into their designs.
While speaking to BW Businessworld about her inspiration for 2017 wedding couture, Anita Dongre, revealed that her AW'17 collection is a tribute to the Bishnoi tribe of Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
She said, "The entire collection is suffused with inspiration drawn from the Bishnoi tribe's spiritual reverence for nature as well as their harmonious traditions of caring for the environment."
Dongre further elaborated that according to history, Bishnoi tribe had staked their lives for saving the 'khejri' trees and the motifs, gota patti embroidery on her collection, translates the essence of the khejri onto the silks.
"Deep hues of maroon, ink blue and olive green accented with our signature red fuchsia and royal blues, highlight the work for this year," she added. When asked about what will be new in terms of her designs or garments, Dongre replied, that obi belts, embroidered jackets and frilly skirts will be introduced in this year's collection.
Speaking about his collection Tarun Tahiliani said, "We have used a lot of inspiration from all the things in the universe - constellations and stars being our core theme."
He further said that it offers a range of European colours on one hand, and vibrant colours from the traditional Indian palette on the other.
"The designers have delicately used the elegance of Chantilly lace, rose-gold embroideries and lightly sprinkled Crystals from Swarovski to make each garment a whimsical dream for our brides," Tahiliani added.
When asked about his garments for this year's couture collection he said, that the studio is working on putting together a contemporary silhouette with an off shoulder corset and a sheer back that has tulle drapes attached to the sleeves encrusted with Swarovski crystals.
He mentioned that the corset is paired with a multi panelled lehenga intricately embroidered in shades of rose gold and interspersed with Swarovski crystals.
"The gota and Swarovski crystals encrusted lehenga, will be representing a confluence of many worlds coming together," he added.
The show will also be gracing wedding specialists, jewelers, trousseau gifting brands, décor experts and wedding planners.
