Dell Redefines Workstation, Server Models

Dell has announced an expanded Dell Precision workstation portfolio that includes the smallest tower workstation chassis in its class, the Dell Precision T1700 small form-factor, the Dell Precision R7610.

In addition, the Dell Precision family features a more powerful and reliable Dell Precision T1700 Mini-Tower rounding out a workstation portfolio that offers increased performance, dependability and smart design for entry-level and high-end workstation users. 

Offering powerful workstation performance at near desktop PC prices, the new Dell Precision T1700 small form-factor (SFF) is the smallest, approximately 30 per cent smaller than competitive systems, and lightest¹ workstation in its class allowing IT to easily deploy an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) certified workstation almost anywhere, regardless of space constraints. The T1700 SFF and the Dell Precision T1700 Mini-Tower (MT) are designed and certified for engineering, architecture and finance professionals. The workstations also are ideal for higher education and high-school students working with 2D, entry-level 3D simulation or multitasking with demanding applications.

Both the T1700 SFF and T1700 MT offer next generation Intel workstation-class processors, NVIDIA and AMD professional-grade graphics with PCIx x16 Gen 3 slots and expanded ISV certifications to help accomplish more in less time. The T1700 SFF is the only entry-level workstation to offer two front USB 3.0 ports to help move data faster and enable easy connectivity to external media and accessories.

The Dell Precision R7610 rack workstation will be available from 4th June starting at $2,179 (Rs. 124,999) and the Dell Precision T1700 Mini-Tower and Small Form-Factor are available on June 4 worldwide4. Pricing for both T1700 workstations will be released on June 4.

Dell Join Hands With Neoteric

Garmin Introduces New Era Of Navigation
Garmin Corporation, a unit of Garmin, a satellite navigation company, has launched four new products PNDs - nüvi 42LM, nüvi 52LM, nüvi 2460 LM and nüvi 2568 LM.

It will help Garmin consolidate its position as it has maximum number of PNDs by a company in Indian market. The prices of the four devices are kept at Rs 8990, Rs 9990, Rs 13990 and Rs 16990 respectively.

Loaded with features the new devices will make search easier with predictive text for thecomfort of the user. Devices are powered with New Guidance User Interface, which helps the user search destinations at ease. Device will also keep the record of search according to category and creates a shortcut list which enables user to search faster and preview multiple route preferences. Industry’s Smallest 18-Bit Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC from Maxim
Maxim Integrated Products has announced that it is now shipping the MAX11156, the industry’s smallest 12-pin, 18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

Available in a tiny 3mm x 3mm TDFN package, the MAX11156 integrates an internal reference and reference buffer, saving cost and at least 70 per cent board space over competing solutions. With 18-bit accuracy, this high-performance ADC features Beyond-the-Rails technology, which supports a ±5V input from a single positive 5V input rail.

This technology eliminates the need for negative power supplies and simplifies designs. With 18-bit resolution and a 500ksps sampling rate, the MAX11156 is ideal for automatic test equipment (ATE), industrial control systems, medical instrumentation, and robotics, where high accuracy and tiny size are paramount.

Due to its monotonic transfer characteristic, fast settling time, and lack of latency, the MAX11156 is ideal for fast, high-precision digital control-loop systems. In fact, the MAX11156 provides 18-bit resolution with no missing codes; excellent DC accuracy (0.5 LSB DNL and 2.5 LSB INL (typ)); and excellent AC performance (94.6dB SNR and -105dB THD (typ)). Additionally, the MAX11156 communicates using a SPI-compatible serial interface, which can be used to daisy-chain multiple ADCs in parallel for multichannel applications. This interface can also provide a busy indicator to simplify system synchronization and timing.
