Delhi LG Meets CM Kejriwal, Other Ministers To Discuss G20 Summit Preparations

Previously, PM Modi urged the governors, ministers, LGs, and CMs to put their best efforts into making the presidency a successful global event. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena held a meeting at 11 am in his office on Wednesday with CM Arvind Kejriwal and other ministers to discuss the significant preparations for the ongoing G-20 summit.

India officially assumed G-20 presidency on 1 December 2022 with the theme titled as 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam translating to 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. 

The motto of the G20 summit is to together overcome the crucial global issues that the world faces.

Previously, PM Modi urged the governors, ministers, LGs, and CMs to put their best efforts into making the presidency a successful global event.

"This is a unique opportunity to showcase India's strength and teamwork," he added. He also asked the UTs/states for their cooperation for the upcoming G20 events.

The key discussions of the meeting include refurbishing of roads with the main focus on the IGI Airport, Ring and Radial roads. LG will also talk about the establishment of Baansera on Yamuna Bank and the rejuvenation of water bodies including the Najafgarh Drain, Asola Bhati Mines and Roshanara garden among other development projects.

More than 200 preparatory meetings across the country have been scheduled to happen to commence in December 2022 including the G-20 Leaders’ Summit which will hold with the heads of state or governments is scheduled to be held the next year on 9 and 10 September in New Delhi.
