The Delhi cabinet minister Kailash Gahlot will be presenting the state budget on 21 March. The budget session will begin in the Delhi assembly from 17 March and will conclude on 23 March. Gehlot had taken charge as the finance minister after deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who also held the finance portfolio, resigned recently.

After Manish Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet, his departments were allocated to Cabinet colleagues – Kailash Gahlot and Raaj Kumar Anand, till the new Ministers were not inducted into the Cabinet.

Gahlot has been taking meetings of all departments to ensure that the budget is prepared in time. He took a meeting with all departments recently.

Earlier on Thursday, Gahlot’s office released an official statement that read, “Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, we are working on a war footing to present a citizen centric and progressive budget.”

“I would like to assure the Delhiites that the upcoming budget will prove to be a milestone in achieving the goals of making Delhi a world class city for its citizens.”

Furthermore, the Cabinet Minister said, “We will take forward the good works done in various fields by this government in the last 8 years. Presenting a people-friendly budget is our priority and we are working towards it.”
