Enabling the education field with relevant data can help in building a conducive space for students while focusing on their unique learning patterns and habits.

According to a recent study, for a fundamental PG course examination, a professor has to spend close to 45mins on an average in doing the basic evaluation and assessment of the student’s answer sheet. While this number is surprising, it also indicates the need for having a reliable solution to the problem especially in a world where time is so scarce.
Having said that, with our ever-dynamic routines and long hours of work, extracting quality time can certainly become a task. Most of these daily activities involve extensive manual toiling that yields little at the end. There needs to be a significant shift in the ways we manage our time and move towards a more efficient side of ours especially when it comes to the field of education. That’s exactly where technology jumps in!
Leveraging Technology for Education
Education serves to be the most integral pillar for all kinds of advancements to happen. With global investments flowing in through reputed firms including Microsoft and IBM, there is a promising path in education for the coming future. This leads us to lay supreme emphasis on leveraging technology with an aim to make the educational domain even more effective and impactful.
The current view of the fundamental problems with our education system can be grave and only technology holds the power to solve them. Our learning institutions design 100s of formative and summative assessments that are important to evaluate what has really been understood by the students. These ‘examinations’ which were originally drafted to analyze the cognitive ability and skills of the learner end up presenting just marks as their key performance indicators reasoning to the huge chunk of data getting accumulated on the teacher’s end.
This calls for an urgent need for automation in the process of result evaluation to make the gathering of data points and its analysis, easy. This is not only going to result in significant time being saved for the professors and teachers, but it shall also help students make a move from marks to actual mastery of the subject with learning being their center of attention.
Enabling Education With Data
According to the IBM 2017 study, the total data created in the years 2015-17 has been more than in all of previous human history combined. This included structured data which could be organized easily along with the unstructured data that was messier while originating from different sources. These findings indicate that the data accumulation is fairly huge and requires extensive analysis for it to make sense.
Enabling the education field with relevant data can help in building a conducive space for students while focusing on their unique learning patterns and habits. Making the entire ecosystem of education being data-driven has the potential to ensure an integrated environment of learning where individual needs can be considered, giving them a more personalized experience. Data in education can help us in many ways which include:
· It acts as a catalyst in learning by providing better insights to inculcate an adaptive mindset to new concepts
· It helps to better visualize the learning curve for individual students and guide them with their specific scope of improvement
· It extends a broader perspective of acceptance where no student is lost on the way by having their individual learning requirements well-catered for
Now is the TIME!
With the education sector having a boom, making it data-enabled is certain to add to its growing vogue. Also, in a world where time is currency, leveraging technology to further enhance the learning experience of students is sure to revolutionize the entire process of evaluation and assessment forever while gradually changing the dynamics of education!
