The movie stayed at number 1 position, in terms of collection at the box-office, beating behind big releases like Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Alien Covenant.

The sports drama raked in Rs 13.50 crore on its 4th Wednesday (31 May). With extraordinary business in China, the film now stands at a worldwide total of Rs 1769 crore.

Dangal went pass SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 and became the highest grosser Indian film. However, Baahubali 2 is still to hit screens in China. The movie is expected to bring in good numbers from China.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Sakshi Tanwar in key roles. The movie has been produced by Diney Pictures India, UTV Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions.

The film has brought in great returns for the producers and distributors associated with the film. Made at a budget of Rs 70 crore, Dangal has earned over Rs 1,000 crore for the producers and distributors.
