Congress All Ready To Form Government In Himachal, Rahul Thanks People For "A Decisive Victory"

The party has already asked its winning MLAs to assemble in Chandigarh to decide the leader for Himachal Pradesh

After gloom in Delhi MCD and Gujarat, there was some happiness for the Congress on Thursday, as the party was seen gaining in Himachal Pradesh Assembly. The party’s MP Rahul Gandhi thanked people for the decisive victory. The party’s senior leaders said that they are all set to form the government in the hill state. Meanwhile, the party’s state unit has already been instructed to keep its winning MLAs “safe”. 


The Congress Election Observer for Himachal and CM of Chattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel said that they are all ready to form the government in the state. While addressing the media, he said that the party's expectation of forming a government in the state seems to be coming true. Party’s leader and MP Rahul Gandhi thanked the people for the decisive victory 


Meanwhile the party has called a meeting of all its newly-elected MLAs in Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh after the assembly elections results were declared. According to sources, the MLAs have been called to enact a resolution authorising the Congress president to elect the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader.


AICC in charge of Himachal Pradesh Rajeev Shukla told the media that the meeting will be held with the Congress MLAs to decide to elect the new CLP leader in Chandigarh after the declaration of final results. During the meeting, the MLAs are likely to give a one-line resolution authorising the Congress party to elect the new CLP leader. 


One must note that Himachal Pradesh recorded a voter turnout of more than 75 per cent on 12 November 2022 for 68 assembly seats. A total of 412 candidates were in the fray this year.
