Narendra Modi-led government is "zero tolerance" against terrorism, said Union Minister Anurag Thakur while addressing a press conference in Delhi said that while India is bringing the world together against terrorism, some of our neighbouring countries are supporting terrorism.

He said that decisive measures had given us detailed results. He claimed that terrorists had decreased terrorism by 168 per cent in Jammu and Kashmir since 2014.

Emphasising the Centre's perspective on terrorism, he said that India's policy has had zero tolerance against terrorism since 2014. Be it the strengthening of the UAPA law or the NIA act amendment; the Indian government has left no stone unturned under PM Modi's leadership.

He further pointed out that on international platforms, Prime Minister Modi has always urged countries to join together against terrorism.

"While India is bringing the world together against terrorism, some of our neighbouring countries are backing terrorism and loudly speaking in favour of it. Their real facade has been uncovered at the global level," he said.

He also laid out statistical evidence to underline the drop in terrorism and uprising in India's Northeast.

Thakur added that the age of peace began in the Northeast after 2014 and that there has been an extreme contraction in insurgency-related violence.

Eighty-nine per cent decrease in civilian deaths and 6000 militants surrendered after 2014. Two-sixty-five per cent reduction in left-wing extremism, he said.
