Amidst the ongoing pandemic crisis in China, the country’s crew orbiting space station is the ray of hope pushing the country strong in its catastrophe situation.

According to the Associated Press on Friday, the Chinese astronauts have completed several planned spacewalks of their six-month mission pushing the realm of a routine of the country’s space journey.

During the seven-hour extra-vehicular activity, the China Manned Space Agency said Fei Junlong and Zhang Lu carried out a number of tasks, including installing extension pumps outside the Mengtian laboratory module. While the third member of the Shenzhou-15 mission, Deng Qingming, assisted the station from inside. The responsible three to carry scheduled several other spacewalks during their time on board.

The report claimed China completed the Tiangong station in November last year in addition to the third of three modules, centred on the Tianhe living and command module.

The space station Tiangong weighs about 66 ton, a fraction of the 465-ton International Space Station and can accommodate up to six astronauts, but only three will be on board for each mission.

The station was built as the Chinese country was excluded from the international space station, largely due to the United States. objections over the China space programs’ intimating ties to the People’s Liberation Army, the military wing of the ruling Communist Party.
