The board examination of class 10th mathematics and class 12th economics will be held again after the reports of paper leak, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said on Wednesday (28th March).

The board announced that the revised dates for the re-examination will be revealed soon on the official website of CBSE within a week’s time.

According to CBSE, “The Board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to upholding the sanctity of the Board examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to reconduct the examinations in the subjects.”

The board exam for the class 10th maths paper was held on 28th March, while for class 12th economics paper was held on 26th March. While CBSE denied reports of a paper leak of class 12th economics on March 26th, the mathematics paper has been labeled easy and high scoring by students and teachers alike with all the questions coming from the syllabus.

For the economics paper, reports erupted on the examination day saying that the paper was leaked through Whatsapp and other social media few hours before the exam; however CBSE denying any such report that it was some miscreant that created the chaos.

“We have checked with all examination centres and the paper was not leaked. The source of the circulation of this information is not known yet. We want to urge the students and parents to not panic and assure them that the board is doing its best to ensure sanctity of the examination,” according to a senior CBSE official stated on 26th March.
