Byju's And MPL Plans To Exit Deal With BCCI

One of the two major sponsors of the BCCI and Byju's have planned to exit the deal of merchandise and kit sponsor

Edtech major Byju’s and MPL a gaming platform are planning to exit from their sponsorship agreements with BCCI. They are one of the two main sponsors of the Indian cricket team.

According to the media reports, Byju’s extended its jersey sponsorship agreement with the board till November 2023 for an amount of USD 35 million. It wants to terminate the agreement with the cricket board. However, BCCI has asked them to continue till march 2023.

BCCI also received an official email from Byju’s on 4 November 2022.

The reports also mentioned that MPL the team kit and merchandise sponsor has also conveyed to the BCCI the complete assignment of its rights to Kewal Kiran Clothing Limit (KKCL).  The existing contract is valid until 31 December 2023. BCCI received from MPL on 2 December 2022 seeking a complete assignment consisting of team and merchandise at full value to KKCL  from 1 to 31 December of 2023.
