Blaupunkt BTW300 Bass Buds: A Review

The saving grace for the BTW300 is its good sound quality and rich bass. From an ergonomic standpoint as well, the Blaupunkt Bass Buds are not too shabby. The IPX5 rating does come in handy and so does the enormous battery life.

The consumer tech market for audio solutions is brimming with fascinating and feature-rich products at the moment. Blaupunkt is one such brand that boasts a plethora of products ranging from TWS earbuds to 5.1 surround sound soundbars. In this review, we will be diving into one such TWS product from the German brand, the Blaupunkt BTW300 Bass Buds.

What’s In The Box!

The packing for the product is petite and concise. The contents of the box are standard with nothing more than the essentials. We have the earbuds (already inside the case), the charging cable and the user manual.

Design and Build Quality

First impressions are important and especially for consumer tech products. In the case of the Blaupunkt BTW300 Bass Buds, they looked good. The matte finish on the buds seemed to accentuate the message that the brand was trying to convey. The dual-colour (silver and black) combination seemed to work as well. It simply looked classy. Plus, it was refreshing from the usual monochromatic solid-colour theme we see in TWS products these days.

Specifications

The specifications list is packed with some heavy features. The BTW300 comes in an all-plastic body with a metallic matte finish. Ergonomics are not bad. The USPs of the TWS earbuds are, of course, the Bass Demon Tech, Crisper ENC Tech, TurboVolt charging technology and Bluetooth V5.3. As far as playtime is concerned, the buds claim 40 hours of uninterrupted fun.

Performance

From the get-go, I could feel the Bass Demon Tech, which is basically enhanced bass, at work. The design and aesthetics are good. Connectivity was quick and simple, courtesy of Bluetooth V5.3.

Another impressive feature of the BTW300 is the ENC. this is one feature that, I believe, is a must in today's time. The noise around you can easily disrupt the quality of a call. Blaupunkt's Crisper Tech is a much-needed add-on.

However, I have to say that the touch functions on the earbuds are confusing. In my overall experience, even the slightest touch led to an abrupt pause or a disconnected call. The sole reason why TWS products have grown in demand to the extent they have today is they simplify lives. The fact that the Bass Buds do not accomplish that is problematic.

However, I’m not discrediting the product altogether. Credit where it’s due. The BTW300 Bass Buds are great for music enthusiasts and audiophiles. Sound quality is above par with solid bass and prominent highs and lows. It's refreshing to use TWS earbuds that actually have good bass. Problems start to arise with the multi-functional touch controls. During my usage, I found the touch controls to be activated by even the slightest tap. Even while adjusting the earbuds a little, the touch controls happened to interfere.

The saving grace for the BTW300 is its good sound quality and rich bass. From an ergonomic standpoint as well, the Blaupunkt Bass Buds are not too shabby. They handled rapid movements well and did not fall off during any of my workout sessions. The IPX5 rating does come in handy.

The 40-hour playtime is accurate. In fact, it goes beyond that. This definitely adds to the viability of the product as the need to charge frequently is not a desirable trait. However, when you do need to charge, the process is fairly quick thanks to the TurboVolt technology from Blaupunkt.

Verdict: Is It Worth It?

The product is what one would call a ‘googly’ or a ‘dusra’ in cricketing terms. It delivers on its promise of increased emphasis on bass and extended battery life. Overall, it might be the right choice for some and for others, not so much.

At an MRP of INR 3,999 (available at INR 1,699 on Amazon, though), making the Blaupunkt BTW300 might look like a huge task. The earbuds do have their drawbacks but at the same time, it all depends on your preference. If your motive is solely music experience, go for it. The audio is excellent and listening to music is a delight. However, if you are looking to make life easier, the BTW300 might not be the best choice.
