Bharti Airtel To Invest In Data Centre, Digital Banking In UP

After launching their 5G services in two cities in UP, Bharti Airtel is all set to connect the villages of Uttar Pradesh through optical fibre. The Vice Chairman of Bharti Airtel Limited, Rakesh Bharti Mittal met the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath at his official residence on Thursday and expressed his willingness to invest in UP for data centre, digital banking and vocational education. He also informed that Airtel will soon be rolling out its 5G services across all 75 districts and connect the villages through optical fibre. 

During the meeting, discussions were held on the implementation of Digital India Mission, improvement of communication facilities and investment proposals of Bharti Group in the state. Rakesh Mittal said that the group is working on priority to facilitate high-level communication services in a state like Uttar Pradesh with a large area and huge population. 

Mittal presented new proposals for investment in Uttar Pradesh before the Chief Minister. He informed that Bharti Enterprises is keen to invest in data centres, digital banking and vocational education in Uttar Pradesh and has prepared a complete action plan. Mittal further said that Airtel's 5G services have partially started in the state and it will be live across75 districts in a phased manner. 

Inviting Mittal to participate in the forthcoming Global Investment Summit 2023, Yogi said that the state government will provide all support to the company to ensure ease of investment. He added that they are delighted with Bharti’s proposals and this will not just boost the IT sector in the state but also provide employment.
