Apple Bets Big On India's Manufacturing Prowess With iPhone 14

Apple is betting big on the manufacturing prowess of India with its newest phone, the iPhone 14, as it begins its production in India. With the new iPhone 14, the global tech titan introduces groundbreaking new technologies and critical safety features.

The company started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017 with the iPhone SE. Today, Apple manufactures some of its most advanced iPhones, including the iPhone SE, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and, now, iPhone 14 in the country, which is the world's second-biggest smartphone market after China.

"We're excited to be manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India," Apple said in a statement to news agency PTI.

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone series earlier this month—the iPhone 14 model with an updated camera, powerful sensors and a satellite messaging feature to send SOS texts in emergencies. The new lineup has four models: the iPhone 14, Plus, Pro and ProMax.

According to media reports, the Made-in-India iPhone 14 will be available to local customers in the upcoming days. Phones manufactured in India will cater to both the Indian market and abroad, and they will be shipped from Foxconn's Sriperumbudur facility on the outskirts of Chennai. Foxconn is the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and a major iPhone assembler.

The iPhone 14, launched on September 7, 2022, has been available to customers in India and the US, among other markets, since September 16, 2022.

The iconic brand started its journey in India more than 20 years ago with the launch of its online store in the country in September 2020 and will reinforce its commitment through the upcoming launch of an Apple retail store.
